Basic Guide New Genesis

Welcome to the world of PSO2 and PSO2 New Genesis!

PSO2 and NGS is an action game and character creation where the ability to observe and react greatly influence the combat for an effective attack and defense.

Here we will show some basic aspects to take into consideration to start in the world of PSO2 and NGS.

-Susy

The Story

The story mode allow us to unlock eveything, from NPCs to Mission Maps. Enjoy!

Exploration

In New Genesis we have a completely open world where we will find bosses and enemies, who will often be fighting against other ARKS to which we can join in combat. The drops are individual so there is no problem with attacking enemies. Help from other ARKS is always welcome.

Many valuable items are obtained through exploration which are used to improve equipment and make foods.

The Battles

In PSO2 and PSO2 NGS the capacity for observation and reaction is very important. Each enemy will have a different way of attacking and can also be defeated more effectively if we takes advantage of its details. Some have weak parts to exploit where the damage is significantly increased, parts that can break which once broken weaken the enemy or reveal weak points. It is also important to learn to use each of the Photon Arts and / or Techniques depending on the classes we use since each one has an optimal situation for its use. Learning to use a certain attack in the indicated situation is vital to have a high damage per second, and with enough practice (which depending on each person is something very fun to do) you can achieve a much higher damage per second. Damage per second is maximized by learning to have a continuous attack, using each attack correctly, and having good equipment. In this sense, it is said that PSO2 and PSO2 NGS are 60% practice and 40% equipment.

Damage Decreased By Diference of 5 or More Levels

The damage we perform decreases if the enemy is 5 or more levels higher than our main class, for example if we are level 10 and the enemy is level 15, or if we are level 19 and the enemy is level 24, etc. According to the Japanese wiki the damage reduction is 40% with 5 levels of difference, 50% with 6 and so on, except against enemies that apply special rules.

Damage at the Right Distance

Certain weapons such as rifles, twin machine guns, and wired lances require being in a certain position relative to the enemy to have their maximum damage. This can be seen by looking at the color of the mark on the enemy, if it is orange then it is at the optimal distance.

Note:
Rifles damage x1.1 at close range, x1.2 at medium range, x1.0 at long range
Twin Machine Guns damage x1.2 at close range, x1.1 at medium range and x1.0 at long range
Wired Lance damage x1.1 at close range, x1.2 at medium range

Battle Power

The battle power can be seeing in the basic stats windows pressing ESC. This allow us to play certain missions.

Ryuker Device

The exploration will be aided by the Ryuker Device. Them are towers that allows you to teleport towards them no matter where you are. You only need to activate them once and then when we open the world map we will see each ryuker that we have activated. Holding left click on one of the ryuker symbols will teleport us to it.  To use them will need to follow the story up to a certain point.

These are also used to access the warehouse and to cook. In addition to being able to change blocks. In PSO2 and NGS the players are separated into blocks, so that there is not too high a number of people in the same area, so if we want to play with friends we must access a ryuker to change blocks.

Also through them we can go to PSO2 located 1000 years before the events of New GenesisHere we can fight against the Darkers, Phantoms and Luminmech together the Oracle Fleet and explore various worlds.

Change Room
There are zones that contain different numbers of people, some 32, others 8. This is why the system sends people to another "room" when one is full or if it is from another block, creating a parallel zone in the same place. That is why if you want to play with friends or people from your alliance or if you want to find areas where there are more people (or fewer), you can search for other rooms in the ryuker and use the filters to either search for rooms where there are friends, rooms where there are people from your alliance and rooms from the same area where they are, being able to combine the filters as well. This is very useful if your teammates find an enemy that they want to fight but it is difficult to find it. They can notify and simply using the filter of "friends" or "alliance" and selecting the room they can go to where their partner is fighting. It is also very useful to go to the same areas of PSE without needing to know the block or anything like that, with the filter and selecting the room you can go directly.

If you are looking for rooms where there are many people, you can select the bar where it says "Default Sorting" and place "Order By Vacancies" then it will appear in order from the smallest to the largest number of people. Also the rooms by time that have been created.

Gigantix
Gigantix are very powerful enemies that appear in thunderstorms. They have an appearance of bright purple and black colors. These enemies are very powerful, they can defeat to someone with a single hit very easily. These scale in HP depending on how many people are close to them. If a player is 5 levels lower or less he will only deal 1 damage and will not receive experience or items. But to be within the range you can obtain high quality items and consequently very valuable.

Storage
The storage in NGS, in addition to being accessible from a ryuker, can be accessed by simply opening the inventory or in the menu of a shop and clicking or using the directional arrows or the buttons intended for this indicated in the golden bar. This allows us to access our warehouse from anywhere.

From the green terminals in the cities by selecting "Open Storage" we can also access the PSO2 Oracle inventory storage. This can only be accessed from these particular terminals.

There are several compartments in the storage, such as the default that is shared between characters, character that is individual in each character, Ex Storage 1 that can be purchased for 200 star gems (SG) for 90 days giving a large amount of spaces, for this you can buy a ticket in the sg shop. You can also get more spaces by being premium or buying other Ex Storage for a certain amount of time. There is also a material storage in which only material items are stored, although it is somewhat expensive in the SG shop.

The PSO2 and NGS warehouse are shared and the equipment items obtained in pso2 can be used in NGS.

Player Shop
The player shop is a great method to earn N-Meseta in NGS and Meseta in PSO2. Many people put various items to sell in this store, so of course, at the same time we can buy many things from it. It is the most efficient way to obtain things, although there are items that cannot be put up for sale and can only be obtained by drop.

To access the player shop we need to get a ticket to activate it, this can be obtained through AC (real cash but free methods could be added in the future). The duration of the store can be extended up to 90 days and the time is shared for PSO2 and NGS.

Classes
There are many different classes in PSO2, if it is difficult for you to decide which one (s) to use, perhaps the best recommendation is to know the concept of each class and just go for the one (s) that call your attention by its concept and attacks, this can be done by testing the weapons and their attacks. Using Primm weapons is the easiest way. All classes are fun to use and a class is not completely known at the beginning, but after of been learning its details and developing it for a long time this can be done, so testing class by class to find out which one you will like the most, i would not recommend it, but testing weapon by weapons is a good way. That is why it is most advisable to know its concept and attacks and simply go for the one (s) that capt your attention. We must also bear in mind that all classes in PSO2 are of the damage per second type but in their own way, there are no full support classes, or full debuff or anything like that, but there are classes that have characteristics of that type.Up to 2 classes can be combined so there is a great variety of combat styles.

These are:

Hunter
Melee physical weapon combatant who wields large weapons. Its attacks can be of moderate speed but with very powerful blows.

Fighter
Very Close Melee physical weapons combatant who wields small weapons, its attacks have enormous speed.

Ranger
Medium Range Shooting Weapons. Its attacks become more powerful when it is at the correct distance. It handles bazookas and assault rifles, whose attacks can be very fast and precise, as well as slow but very powerful.

Gunner
Close combat shooting weapon and medium range shooting weapons. With two-handed pistols it can fight in the air with an enormous capacity for evasion and movement, being able to stay very close to the enemy and with the assault rifle it can fight at medium distance.

Force
Medium and long distance magic user. Magic class of excellence. It focuses on the pure use of magic called Techniques with a high offensive.

Techter
Short and long distance magic combatant. It uses melee attacks and combines them with magic for maximum effect. It has various skills that improve the stats of his own character and of others.

Other Classes Will Be Added Little by Little. Such as:
Braver . Specialized in katanas and bows. The samurai of PSO2.

Bouncer . Class with a unique concept, a class that uses jet boots to fly and attack at high speed in combination with magic.

Summoner . Pet Raiser

Weapons, Armor and Upgrades

The equipment will give us additional stats and a Power Level, which is required to access certain missions, this is increased with equipment of greater rarity or by improving the equipment. It has several characteristics that allow its improvement. These are done at the item lab with the scientist and are:

Enhancement
Items can increase their stats using items of the same type as material to gain experience. Once this is done the item will have a number, for example +1, +7, +10, +40, etc. This indicates the level of enhancement.

Augments
Also known the process as affix or add augments, this allow to set certain effects into the equipment using capsules.

Potentials
These are unlockable effects on weapons. Each weapon has its own potential so several can be used for different situations, even if them are of the same type.

Multi Weapon
A weapon can be fused with other, allowing both weapon capabilities to be used in the same action palette. This includes normal attack, block, evasion. photon arts and techniques. If it is fused with other weapon a second time, the first weapon that was fused is removed and replaced by the second. To have all the possible actions of the second weapon, it is necessary to use a main or sub class compatible with that weapon, otherwise only the weapon action will be available.

From the Author: Strengthening a Class

There are many urgent quests that require well-equipped and well-skilled people using their class as they are difficult to complete. Practicing to improve and working on your equipment will not only be useful for you but it will be useful for everyone else. Serving others by granting them a good may be one of the greatest rewards with which to feel good about ourself, which has been the reason for creating all these guides, that we can all improve. It is not my intention that you compete or discriminate against others for not having as good equipment or not playing as long as you have. Unfortunately I have had to see this behavior and I have to say that having better equipment does not make them better players, nor does having more days with the account created either. Let's support each other and have fun together as partners and go on missions with the intention of being useful to others, remembering that we were not always what we are, how other people also helped us and took the time to teach us to become what we are now and that we still have a lot to improve.

Always with good wishes. Susy

Cocoons and Towers
In the Cocoons and Towers we can do various tests which will provide us with skill points for the skill tree. These points can be applied to all classes so it is enough to complete them once with any class. Them are found in different parts of the map and the towers are usually more difficult so it is recommended to be accompanied in a party. Partys can be formed at the tower or cocoon door with the automatic group formation system.

Urgent Quest
Urgent Quest (UQ) are missions that appear randomly. In these UQ we will fight against very powerful enemies. Them can be accessed by opening the world map and holding left click on the red sign and then accepting the mission. There will be an announcement, a change in the music, and a sign in the sky. Them usually start at XY: 00 hrs o'clock.

Making Private Groups For Urgent Quest
If you want to go with friends or people from the alliance to a certain mission, and that people do not enter automatically, you must do the following.

You can open the urgent quest shown on the map with a left click, which will bring up a window to configure the party. In this window we must place a password and in the second button "Limit Request From Other Parties" to restrict the access of people to the same area and ALL the people who want to enter must do exactly the same by placing the same password.

This will make people start to join until the maximum is filled, once the urgent quest is filled to the maximum it starts automatically. If you want to start before it is full, you must open the mission menu with the interaction button (E for PC). In that same window you can cancel in case a mistake was made. Removing the password or restriction will send them to a UQ without their companions outside the single party but if they do not have 8 people, the mission can be started anyway. The enemies in UQ scale in life depending on the number of people there are, so there is no problem if they do not have the maximum number of people. However, the system scales in such a way that it is always more beneficial for the run to have more people.

Character Editing
The editing system is extremely detailed. We will surely want to modify our character many times in many different ways. After the creation of our character and during the first 5 hours of play with that character we will be able to modify everything except some cast colors as much as we want (that is, it is for each character individually and it also does not affect whether it is disconnected or using other character). After those 5 hours we can continue modifying our character but some options will be restricted, unless star gems are paid or a salon pass is used so that it is totally free. By logging into the game a certain number of days and also in certain events we can get hall passes and color passes.

There are many costumes, hairstyles, robotic parts, eyebrows, eyes, makeup, body paints and more with which we can create a wide variety of styles. We can also have the appearance of other race and change our body type  ro type 1 or type 2.

Chats

There are several types of chats and chat windows. To change your destination can be selected in the same chat, using commands, setting a specific key in options or simply using alt + left or right to change the destination and ctrl + left or right to change what the window shows.

Nearby: Send messages to all players in the vicinity.

Party: Send messages to people within the party

Alliance: Send messages to alliance members (guild, etc. in other words). This is shared with PSO2 and PSO2 NGS

Group: You can create private chats where you can invite people manually. It is quite useful to keep people in different alliances communicated and to maintain friendship between them. They are also used to organize specific activities, such as a group chat dedicated to Challenge Quest. This is shared between PSO2 and PSO2 NGS

Whisper: This is used to talk privately with other people. It can be done by clicking on a character, or from the alliance list or from the friends list. Whisper can be contacted by anyone regardless of whether they are at NGS or Oracle.

Basic Configuration
As everything is so modifiable, there are many configurations but there are some particular ones that it will be useful to modify them to be able to play more comfortably if you play with a keyboard and mouse. We will show where and some recommendations for the controls. To do this we must open the menu using ESC, system and we modify the following:

Changing The Player ID Name (PN1231254)
This is done by entering the ship, then the support menu and Change Player ID Name. Then a window will appear with yes, confirm and no; the confirm is to see if the nick they want is available. This changes the nickname of the account, not the character. To do it a second time it will take 3000AC and 30 days from the last change.

4 Star Armor In Red Boxes
We can get 3 very good quality 4 star armor in specific red boxes which can be equipped from level 12. The locations are shown in the images. To break the box it is necessary to break the floating stones.

Some Food Recipes

Food recipes can be created for specific enemies or missions and also to vary the resources used.

Against Random Enemies

Against Bosses

Regional MAG
There are several of these mag throughout each region. Each one provides different bonuses when fully fed and also a personal bonus depending on how many points we have awarded. To award points we must give items to it reaching the maximum personal bonus of 400 points.

In the mag menu 2 bars will be shown corresponding to each boost. The "All" boost bar is filled in cooperation with all the people on the same Ship and applies to all the people on that ship once it is full. In the Aelio region there are the All boosts that grant + 5% damage, + 10% exp and + 10% rare drop depending on each regional mag, these boosts last 24 hours. The staff boost bar grants + 20% rare drop and the boost lasts for 2 hours.

Each regional mag for a certain time will provide a bonus for the points if it is given certain items which are marked in green and yellow. It also provides a bonus if the All boost bar is not full, this can be identified by opening the world map and seeing which mags are asleep. The items that give extra points change from time to time indicated in the mag.

PSE Zones
These areas are ideal for leveling up and obtaining rare and useful items. The PSE is a bar that as one kills enemies, a column of light (photons) appears randomly, which if it happens several times, it fills up completely and the PSE Burst begins where many enemies appear without stopping and finally a final boss. With PSE Burst you get a lot of experience and items.
To unlock higher-level PSE areas, history must be done.
Some of these areas are: Mt. Magnus, Resol Forest and Laboratory Ruins
